What Is a Mougee Power Ring?

The Mougee Power Ring* is our own invention, designed to make learning how to spin a Flow Star easier and a whole lot more fun. It's a soft, flexible center ring sewn into the middle of a Mougee Flow Star, creating a stable, centered spot for your finger while you spin.

Why does that matter? One of the trickiest parts of learning to use a Flow Star, Flowstar, or Dapo Star is keeping your finger near the center while maintaining balance and momentum. Wander too far from the center and your Flow Star can wobble, slow down, or simply fly right off your finger.

The Mougee Power Ring gives your finger a defined center area to work with. It helps keep the Flow Star balanced and makes it easier to maintain a smooth, steady spin. For a beginner Flow Star spinner, that can make a huge difference.

Without a Power Ring, some beginners spend quite a while just getting the hang of that first finger spin. With a Power Ring Flow Star, many people are spinning successfully within their first few tries. Once you've got the spin, you can stop worrying so much about keeping the star on your finger and start getting to the good stuff—Flow Star tricks, tosses, catches, hand passes, and finding your own flow.

Experienced Flowmies can enjoy the Power Ring too. It provides a predictable center point for finger spins and can make certain tricks, transitions, and combinations feel smoother and more controlled.

Two Types of Mougee Power Rings

We make the Mougee Power Ring in two different styles. They work on the same basic principle, but each has a slightly different feel.

1. Standard Exterior Power Ring

The Standard Power Ring is sewn on the outside of the Flow Star and is usually black, so you can easily see and feel where the center is.

This is our most defined Power Ring and the easiest Power Ring to use, which makes it a great choice for beginners. The raised edge gives your finger a clear center area and makes it easier to catch and maintain your spin.

If you're buying your first Flow Star and your main goal is to start spinning quickly, this is the Power Ring we'd generally recommend.

2. Intra Power Ring

The Intra Power Ring is built inside the Flow Star, between the two outer layers of fabric. That gives the star a cleaner, more traditional appearance because the Power Ring is much less visible from the outside.

You can still feel the ring and use it as your center point, but because it's underneath the fabric, its edge isn't quite as defined or as easy to catch with your finger as the Standard Exterior Power Ring.

The Intra is a great choice if you want the benefits of a Power Ring Flow Star but prefer the smoother look and feel of a traditional Flowstar.

Which Power Ring Is Best for Beginners?

If you're completely new to Flow Stars, we'd usually recommend the Standard Exterior Power Ring. It's the easiest version to feel with your finger and gives you the most defined center point while you're learning.

If you already have some Flow Star experience—or simply prefer a cleaner, more traditional-looking star—the Intra Power Ring gives you that middle ground.

Either way, the idea behind the Mougee Power Ring is simple:
